Deer management plans
New-Brunswick
The Province of New Brunswick have developed
a "Framework for Deer Management in New Brunswick" that
has guided the management of deer since early in 2000. The primary
objective is to grow deer populations in each Wildlife Management
Zone to the carrying capacity of the habitat. Once at target population
densities, the goal is to maintain healthy deer populations at
this level. Herd growth is manipulated mostly by control of antlerless
deer permits.
